VicEmergency app update improves user experience

POSTED:
16 April 2019

The VicEmergency app has been updated to help the community better prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies.

The update will be made available for download to Android and iOS devices over the coming days and follows a review of valuable feedback from app users.

The updates will improve functionality, performance and useability, as well as introduce new features and design enhancements.

The app display now scales to larger mobile devices and tablets and introduces the much-requested pull down to refresh functionality that will reload the data displayed.

The Locate Me and Zoom to State buttons have also been moved to provide users with more space to interact with the map and view popups without these buttons getting in the way.

Users are encouraged to update their watch zone settings to ensure their desired notifications for the coming months are turned on, especially those around storms, floods and weather events.

With information and warnings about incidents, emergencies and more, the VicEmergency app and website provides the information that enables you to make good decisions about you and your family's safety.

The VicEmergency app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.

Victorians are encouraged to get their emergency information from a variety of sources, including the VicEmergency app, www.emergency.vic.gov.au, ABC local radio, commercial and designated stations, Sky TV, or by following VicEmergency on Facebook and Twitter.

App questions and answers can be found on the VicEmergency Knowledge Base: http://support.emergency.vic.gov.auIf users are unable to find an answer to their question, they can also submit a support request via the online form.
